Dog Home Boarding
I pride myself on being the best holiday mum your dog could wish for because of my experience and devoted care and love for dogs and all animals. My property is a five bedroomed detached house set in approximately a third of an acre of grounds. With 20 years experience of dog Home Boarding under my belt, I am well equipped to look after your dog professionally and with the utmost of care and attention. I take a wide variety of breeds. All dogs come to visit prior to booking in, to ensure they like me, my home, and my dog Max. On sight I have a fully equipped grooming salon and I have a city and guilds qualification in Dog grooming should you wish to book your dog in for a little spa treatment and trim while here on holiday with me. I am rarely away from sight for any length of time so you dog will benefit from not being left alone for very long at at any one time. Regular time is made for walking and exercising round the Murieston Trail at the rear of my property. I have a gate at the foot of the garden which allows me access to the fantastic walks around the trail. In addition, the nearby Linn House trail is also on the door step.
Should your dogs have a medical condition, I am also experienced in administering drugs as well and vaccines for diabetic dogs and can keep a strict feeding resume for dogs who require it due to medical conditions if necessary. Below is an aerial shot of my home and the grounds. I am licensed by West Lothian Council who regularly check my records, property, business insurance and disease control methods which are all in accordance with their licensing conditions.
All dogs must be fully vaccinated and have their boosters up to date and must be friendly to humans as well as other dogs.
See the "About Me" page to read a bit more about my personal background, history, and experience.
Home Boarding with me is £38 per day per dog. I take a maximum of four dogs per day at any one time.
What My Customers Think
From Jon & Jan Hughes: We took our black, cocker spaniel, Bronwyn to K9 for almost the whole of her 13 year long life. Jaqui provides a first class service in which each guest has their own bed in the large, open-plan lounge and access to a garden the size of a small field. The dogs have two walks each day of a length suitable for each individual. In addition to being well qualified in animal care, Jaqui plainly loves the dogs she is looking after. Our Bronwyn was always happy when we arrived and seemed completely at home in the house and grounds as well as having plenty of attention and cuddles from Jaqui. By taking Bronwyn all the way to K9 in Murieston from Haddington, a 40 mile drive, we were 100% confident that we were doing the best we could for her whenever we were away from home. When Jaqui started grooming, about 4 years ago, we started to take Bronwyn to her as she was more reliable than anybody else we had been to. Sadly Bronwyn died on 10 Dec 2020 and I had to cancel her final grooming which was booked with Jaqui for 21 Dec. If we get another dog I shall certainly take her to K9 for both boarding and grooming. We only had cooper for around 3 months before we had to give him to Jacqui due to holiday/wedding. He is our 1st dog and we weren’t sure who to put our faith in to take good care of him. I must say that Jacqui was a GREAT choice. She was excellent with him and it was clear to see from the updates that they both had a great bond. Jacqui herself is great with giving you daily updates and pics/videos. This helps you be more settled that your dog is being well looked after. There is no doubt in our mind that when we need to have someone look after Cooper again then Jacqui will be our ONLY choice!!!!

I have absolutely nothing but praise for K9 Friends. Jackie took care of my boy like her own. It has been a weight off of my shoulders knowing he is getting such exceptional care whilst in Jackie's company. With regular updates, videos and photos, Jackie goes above and beyond to make sure Floyd is well looked after. Thank you so much again Jackie. Would highly recommend K9 Friends for short and long term dog sitting. 5*
