Welcome to K9 Friends
Dog Home Boarding

With over 26 years of experience and a five-bedroom detached house set in a third of an acre of grounds, I am well equipped to look after your furry friend and give them the perfect place to relax play and exercise. My property is located near the Murieston Trail and Linn House Trail, providing ample opportunities for exercise and playtime. I offer a true home-from-home experience for dogs giving them walks cuddles and care while you go and enjoy your holiday receiving many whats app videos and updates of your dog along the way.  You will see for yourself how much your dog is enjoying their holiday.

I have held a Dog Home Boarding license from West Lothian Council for over 20 years and as a licence holder, I am audited by the council regularly ensuring that all the mandatory requirements for disease control and animal safety and welfare are adhered to by the laws that protect dogs in a home boarding. I am also fully insured.

All dogs must be fully vaccinated,  well socialized, over 6 months old and spayed or neutered to board with me.  Read my testimonials below and enjoy the images in the gallery. I don't book any dogs into boarding without first meeting them, vetting them, and assessing their suitability. This way you and I can be sure your dog will be in good company with any other dogs staying with your dog at the same time. I take a maximum of 4 dogs per day. If you think your dog would like to come to stay with me, please read the FAQ page, fill in the information on my contact form and submit it. I will reply no matter what and hopefully if we both think your dog will be happy here I will arrange for you to accompany your dog/s on a meet and greet with me here at my property.

An absolutely excellent home boarding service from Jacqui. Professional, organised with very good communication from the very start. Jacqui clearly loves and cares for the dogs she looks after. Her video and photograph updates while we were away were fantastic to the point that I thought Bracken is not only not missing us, she is having a better holiday than we are! Thank you again Jacqui.

Our boy had never stayed with anyone and I was anxious about where he would go while we went on a family holiday. I done lots of research and found Jacqui at K9 Friends in Muireston and I am delighted to have done so. During his stay Jacqui sentme lots of daily pics and videos of our Springer Spaniel boy having fun with the other dogs in home boarding, he looked, happy, healthy, relaxed and loved. Jacqui has a lovely assistant, Jemma who is just as loving and caring as Jacqui with the dogs, our boy loved cuddling in with both of them. I found Jacqui to be very professional in all aspects and is the only place i would ever leave my dog as it is like a 5 star doggy hotel. When I collected our boy he was in brilliant condition just as I left him. Thank you Jacqui and Jemma for loving and caring for him while we were away, he will be back to see you again. I highly recommend K9 Friends.

Giving the dogs a reward mid walk on the Murieston Trail

From Jon & Jan Hughes: We took our black, cocker spaniel, Bronwyn to K9 for almost the whole of her 13 year long life. Jaqui provides a first class service in which each guest has their own bed in the large, open-plan lounge and access to a garden the size of a small field. The dogs have two walks each day of a length suitable for each individual. In addition to being well qualified in animal care, Jaqui plainly loves the dogs she is looking after. Our Bronwyn was always happy when we arrived and seemed completely at home in the house and grounds as well as having plenty of attention and cuddles from Jaqui. By taking Bronwyn all the way to K9 in Murieston from Haddington, a 40 mile drive, we were 100% confident that we were doing the best we could for her whenever we were away from home. When Jaqui started grooming, about 4 years ago, we started to take Bronwyn to her as she was more reliable than anybody else we had been to. Sadly Bronwyn died on 10 Dec 2020 and I had to cancel her final grooming which was booked with Jaqui for 21 Dec. If we get another dog I shall certainly take her to K9 for both boarding and grooming. (Jon Hughes, 9 Jan 2021.)

Chilling in the kitchen after a walk.

We only had cooper for around 3 months before we had to give him to Jacqui due to holiday/wedding. He is our 1st dog and we weren’t sure who to put our faith in to take good care of him. I must say that Jacqui was a GREAT choice. She was excellent with him and it was clear to see from the updates that they both had a great bond. Jacqui herself is great with giving you daily updates and pics/videos. This helps you be more settled that your dog is being well looked after. There is no doubt in our mind that when we need to have someone look after Cooper again then Jacqui will be our ONLY choice!!!!

Me and a dog I looked after for 6 weeks while the owner was in hospital.

I have absolutely nothing but praise for K9 Friends. Jackie took care of my boy like her own. It has been a weight off of my shoulders knowing he is getting such exceptional care whilst in Jackie's company. With regular updates, videos and photos, Jackie goes above and beyond to make sure Floyd is well looked after. Thank you so much again Jackie. Would highly recommend K9 Friends for short and long term dog sitting. 5*

We have used K9 friends for nearly 10 years now for dog walking, home boarding and latterly dog grooming - our dog loves her walks and holidays with Jacqui - just like home from home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional and trustworthy business who will give 100% to caring and looking after your dog. Thank you Jacqui for the fabulous service.

Jacqui looked after our little rescue dog for a few nights just a month after we rescued him. We were worried about how it would go but what can I say, Jacqui has worked a miracle. The timid little dog has come on leaps and bounds in his confidence and his behaviour with other dogs. Jacqui told us in her professional opinion that he could be walked off the lead and she was right. She sent us loads of video and told us how she managed him off the lead. His recall is brilliant and we’ve worked on the building blocks she gave us. He even eats better now. I can’t thank Jacqui enough for the love and care she showed him and for the confidence she has given us. We will continue with the work she started and are eternally grateful.  Lee Knowls  Google review June 6th 2023
