K9 Friends is founded by myself, Miss Jacqui Turnbull. I was brought up in
the country on a farm where my father was a shepherd. Prior to his
retirement, we lived in The Cheviot Hills up the Bowmont Valley. He was a
shepherd his whole life, from boyhood up until he retired at the age of 65.
He is now 93 and still going strong. That's what all this walking and fresh
air does for you! He bred and trained Collie dogs and was a runner up in
the international sheepdog trial many years ago. People came from Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales to buy trained dogs and pups from us.
I learned a lot about dogs and other animals during my childhood. I spent
my days out with my father on the farm as apposed to spending my time on
the more expected lady-like pursuits. I had many pets and learned a lot
from my mistakes and successes with them. I am currently studying canine
behaviour and psychology and hope to add this to my list of services in the
near future in order to help people out with their more problematic
companions.
